TransGrid

VacuBlast was commissioned by TransGrid and Quanta Lines to complete maintenance and corrosion incubation works to transmission towers 1 – 21, spanning throughout the Central Coast region.

Following Wet Abrasive Blasting surface preparation, the Transmission Tower painting required application of Zinga Cold Galvanising Coating with a total maximum DFT of 180 μm.

VacuBlast proceeded to assemble our experienced group of Rope Access Technicians (RATA) and NACE Qualified Coating Applicators and Inspectors. Confidently onboard individuals capable of managing the complex scope of works, highlighted by the working at heights requirement.

With a focus on safety, VacuBlast managed confidently and efficiently to carry out the corrosion treatment of itemised transmission towers. Independent Test Plans were completed, ensuring quality assurance of both the surface preparation and coating application.

Corrosion maintenance was successfully achieved to specification on the identified transmission towers. Our skilled technicians were productively capable of mobilising and coordinating the stringent completion of all essential abrasive blasting and coating application works.
